Cairo Showcases Vintage Car Parade in Dazzling National Day Celebration

Cairo, Egypt – In a rare and captivating spectacle, downtown Cairo was transformed into a rolling museum of automotive history as over 50 vintage cars paraded through the city on May 2 to mark Egypt’s National Day and the 101st anniversary of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club.
The event, which coincided with Sinai Liberation Day, drew crowds of onlookers who lined iconic routes such as the Qasr El-Nil Bridge to witness the gleaming convoy.

From a pristine 1939 Oldsmobile to a vibrant green Alfa Romeo Spider, collectors unveiled a rich array of meticulously restored classics that captured Egypt’s motoring legacy.
Mohammed Askar, Vice President of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club, hailed the celebration as a tribute to “an Egyptian treasure,” underscoring the importance of preserving cultural heritage through automotive restoration.
Organizers emphasized that the parade was not only a nod to Egypt’s automotive past but also an initiative to promote tourism and inspire historical appreciation among younger generations.
The annual event continues to fuel passion for classic vehicles while reaffirming Egypt’s dedication to honoring its national milestones through art, history, and spectacle.
