Credible sources reaching iNewsAfrica have confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to announce the appointment of Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) as the next Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to reliable reports obtained by iNewsAfrica from top government insiders and corroborated by findings from Sahara Reporters and ThisDayLive, the announcement is expected imminently, following internal consultations within the presidency and a pending meeting of the National Council of State.

Prof. Amupitan, a respected law scholar and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is currently a professor at the University of Jos and has served in various academic and administrative capacities, including as Dean of the Faculty of Law.
