Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced exporting jet fuel to Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone in its operational expansion. The refinery has successfully exported two cargoes, totaling approximately 130 million liters, to Saudi Aramco.
Currently operating at 85% capacity, the refinery processes 550,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil, with plans to reach full capacity of 650,000 bpd within the next 30 days.
To support this increase, the refinery has requested 550,000 bpd of crude from Nigerian producers for the first half of the year.
This development aligns with Nigeria’s strategic goal to become a refining hub, especially as global refining capacities shift.
The Dangote Refinery’s expansion into international markets not only enhances its operational footprint but also positions Nigeria as a key player in the global energy sector.
The future of Nigeria’s energy sector remains uncertain
